Thanks Easter Bunny!

The last time I visited the Chocolate Museum in Cologne must have been nine, ten years ago. At the time I was underwhelmed by the quality of the exhibits, and at best could only recommend it as a rainy day option.

Today, despite gorgeous weather in the 80s, Jochen had to stay home to get some work done. Pig was home with the kindergarten closed for Good Friday, so I decided to take him to a special Easter children's tour of the museum.

The tour was very much hands-on, but I think Pig is still a year or two away from understanding the alchemy of cacao beans, cacao butter, sugar, etc as well as explanations of the milling process. Still, the upgrade of exhibits (as well as explanations now provided in English and German) means I can now recommend this for those of you coming my way (hint!)

Of course Pig had no problems enjoying the chocolate fountain or the dizzying array of samples they handed out. Isn't it just devious of them to grant children under 6 free admission??

No Cadbury's eggs here - it's the invasion of the Lindt Goldhasen!!

Too cool!
I wish I had been there with you guys...Wondering, did the museum smell like a chocolate factory? Yum.
